Public radio news stations play an increased role in their communities when change is happening and the public needs news and information. This year’s pandemic and election both illustrate this point.
Slide 1 shows the total AQH Persons for full time public news stations in PPM markets DIVIDED into the total market AQH Persons (PUMM) of those same markets gives us an overall AQH Share for this group of stations, month-by-month. Notice how in times of need your stations have an increased role in your markets when the public needs information, like in March and April (onset of pandemic) and now November (elections).
Slide 2 shows the tally of how many full time public news stations in PPM markets hit their highest AQH Share in that corresponding month.
